Community Support

ACT and its employees support our community through various outreach programs like:

ACT is proud to support the Bánica Mission. The Bánica Mission is a missionary partnership between the Diocese of Arlington, VA, and the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana, serving10,000 poor people in the rural area of the Dominican Republic on the border of Haiti. In 2004 the Mission established a parish school (pre-K through 8thgrade). Today 250 students are receiving an education far superior to the education offered in the local public school.

In early 2011, ACT owners Bob Hansen and Rebecca Aughney visited the Mission’s parish school to tour the site where a new computer lab had been planned. Since their journey there in 2011,the school now has a newly built library and in February 2013 dedicated a new computer lab facility that was donated by ACT. The lab supports 25 students per class and offers a view to the world outside, improved education, opportunities to learn basic and advanced computer skills that will ultimately improve the chances for these students to advance and compete for opportunities to go to college. ACT continues to provide annual financial support for multiple projects and initiatives in support of Bánica Mission.

Food For The Poor is the largest international relief and development organization in the United States and serves the poorest of poor in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Since its inception in 1982, Food For The Poor has provided in excess of $10 billion in aid. More than 95% of all donations to Food For The Poor go directly to the programs that help the poor. That’s less than 5% in administrative costs!

The mission of Food For The Poor is to link the church of the First World with the church of the Third World in a manner that helps both the materially poor and the poor in spirit.

ACT has been a financial supporter of Food For The Poor since 2005.

Living Water International is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to help communities acquire desperately needed clean water, with a special focus on creating sustainable water and sanitation programs in underdeveloped countries. As of 2016, Living Water International has completed more than 16,656 water projects. These projects have facilitated community-based solutions to water shortages by equipping them with the resources to harvest clean drinking water, drill new water wells, and repair old water pumps.

ACT’s process-focused approach and commitment to quality through measurable, repeatable process development has resulted in process defect identification and elimination, better customer service, improved employee morale, and increased productivity. These benefits translate to lower costs for our customers through increased efficiency across projects.

ACT is ISO 9001:2015 certified by NQA, successfully passing our recertification audit on 27 April 2021. Our ISO 9001:2015 certificate (#12627) is valid until June 10, 2024. This audit was conducted by National Quality Assurance (NQA), USA. NQA-USA is accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

CMMI SVC 2 and DEV 2 Certified Appraisal # 56087

ACT is also currently appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration-Development, (CMMI-Dev) Version 2.0 Maturity Level 2 and Services (CMMI-SVC) Version 2.0 Maturity Level 2. The most recent successful appraisal was completed in September 2021 (ID# 56087 – expiration 21 September 2024) was conducted by Primvis, Inc., an ISACA and CMMI Institute Partner. The CMMI Institute approved the appraisal for public use.

Our Quality Management System (QMS) is based in our ISO9001:2015 certified corporate level business processes supporting IDIQ and Task Order management, while our CMMI Level 2 assessed processes focus on program management practices in the areas of: project level planning, execution, delivery, monitoring, and reporting. These documented, repeatable quality practices are used on every ACT project or program to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied on time and meet customer expectations. ACT’s Senior Management is actively engaged in the support and maintenance of the QMS to provide quality customer service.

ACT actively documents, takes action on, and monitors known Risk and Opportunities in the QMS. Our proactive approach is intended to identify potential risks early, and then put in place effective mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts on ACT and our customers.

ACT is actively involved in continual improvement of the QMS. The sources for improvement come from several sources, but ultimately all non-conformances are documented and worked to resolution following a standardized process. Senior Management is actively involved with QA in this process.

Monthly In Progress Reviews (IPR) are held where each Program/Project Manager (PM) provides an in- depth report to ACT Senior Management and other ACT Stakeholders. These meetings provide the primary means to ensure a smooth and complete flow of information is provided to the ACT decision makers.

CMMC

CYBERSECURITY MATURITY MODEL CERTIFICATION

ACT believes strongly in securing our federal customer’s data, maintaining a hardened cybersecurity presence, and being a safe and secure partner against the ever-growing threat of malicious cyber actors threatening our nation’s economic and national security. ACT recognized early on the necessity and value of the DOD’s planned Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and the need to standardize, certify, and measure contractors against these threats. The CMMC (v2.0) model measures cybersecurity maturity for three levels aligning a set of processes and practices with types of information to be protected to the associated range of threats. As a small business it is no small effort to make the investment to pursuing a CMMC Level 2 certification, but ACT is well underway into our pursuit of this important program. The CMMC model consists of maturity processes and cybersecurity best practices from multiple standards, framework, references, as well as inputs from the broader government contracting community. Once ACT has completed our targeted Level 2 certification, we will have been measured for our cybersecurity maturity for managed processes as well as possessing good cyber hygiene practices with an ability to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for the federal government.
