BACKGROUND

Penobscot Bay Media (Pen Bay Media) is owned by CAPT Ann S. Yahner, USN (Ret.) and her partners, Stuart Rich and David Berez.  Pen Bay Media was founded in 1999 as the convergence of three successful small companies in Mid-Coast Maine in order to leverage the strengths and skills of each and create a new company that would provide high-quality integrated solutions and professional services to Federal, State and Local government clients, non-profit organizations and private industry.

Pen Bay Media is an Information Visualization and Technology firm specializing in delivering enterprise-wide information solutions.  These solutions typically integrate GIS and business data to support strategic information processing, analysis and visualization needs throughout the enterprise, harnessing the latest technologies from Oracle, ESRI, Macromedia, Microsoft, Citrix and others, to deploy scalable solutions on mobile platforms, intranets and the web that support the strategic needs of clients.  Pen Bay Media works with the world’s premier database and GIS software companies to ensure that our clients have access to the most robust enterprise-wide solutions. Pen Bay Media invests continually in its growth in the once diverse specialties of web application design and GIS, bringing these two disciplines together in a marriage that elicits new and better ways of seeing information. In GIS applications, Pen Bay Media is accomplished with the most current versions of the ESRI product suite, developing custom extensions of ArcGIS 9.x, with C++, Delphi, VB and other technologies; enterprise-wide ArcSDE deployments, integrated ArcIMS applications as well as solutions employing ArcEngine and the Microsoft .NET framework.  In web application, Pen Bay Media stays at the forefront of user interface design, leveraging tools such as Flash and Flex, putting a face on GIS so our clients can easily visualize their business and spatial data.

Our staff has extensive experience in the design, development, and implementation of geospatial and information technology systems. Our emphasis on quality with strict adherence to budget and schedule exemplifies our commitment to customer satisfaction as the critical path to continued success. In addition to geospatial solutions, we have broad experience in database and application development; our employees and principals have degrees in spatial expression and analysis, computer engineering, forestry, computer science, education, documentary production, and business among other disciplines. Their career experiences range from organizations such as the U.S. Military and Fortune 500 Private Industry to Ivy League and Post-Secondary Institutions.
